Black Grouse
Perhaps you
are wondering why you keep seeing Black Grouse pictures etc throughout the whole
house? That is because back in the 1960's Camm and it's immediate area had the
largest population of Black Grouse in the Yorkshire Dales. Conservation efforts
are being made to encourage Black Grouse numbers back at Camm from extinction.
The
Area
In the middle of the Three Peaks Penyghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.
The Dalesway and Pennineway plus lots of other public footpaths and open access
but remember to check on the web first for any restrictions especially at ground
nesting time of year. Wharfedale, Wensleydale, Swaledale plus many other Dales
and areas of outstanding beauty are all within driving distance. Hawes is only
six miles away with it's shops, pubs, museum, ropemakers and the famous Wensleydale
cheese factory.
Yes we get every sort of weather so make sure your boots
and waterproofs are packed together with your sunglasses and suncream.
